Processing on your device
OFFSET processes camera images, microphone audio, and supported depth effects locally on your device. The app does not upload your camera feed, captures, audio, or depth data to the developer. It has no account system, advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics SDK.
Permissions
Camera access provides the preview and captures. Microphone access records video sound. Photo-library permission is add-only and is used to save photos and videos; OFFSET does not read your existing photo library. Motion input detects shakes to change the interface theme. Supported TrueDepth front-camera data is used to render depth effects, not to recognize or identify a person. No raw depth maps or biometric profiles are sent to the developer.
Local storage and retention
Quality choices, appearance preferences, and custom effects are stored locally. Latest captures can be reviewed during the current app session. Temporary video and export files may remain until the operating system clears them or the app is deleted. Successfully saved photos and videos remain in your Photos library until you delete them there. Deleting OFFSET removes its app storage but not files previously saved or shared elsewhere. Device backups and iCloud Photos follow your Apple settings.
Sharing
Files leave the app when you choose a sharing destination or export a custom effect. The receiving app or service and Apple Photos/iCloud handle those files under their own policies. OFFSET includes no developer-operated cloud processing service.
Your choices
Manage permissions in iOS Settings. Delete saved media in Photos or the destination you chose. Remove custom effects in OFFSET or delete the app to remove local settings. No account deletion flow is needed because the app does not create accounts.
